Mother's Day Mini Sessions at The Saskatoon Farm Greenhouse are my absolute favourite sessions of the year. They mark the start of a new growing season, symbolizing fresh beginnings, new memories for families, and exciting opportunities ahead.

I usually release this date in February, and the buzz of excitement is contagious. Families (and I!) eagerly plan spring outfits, dream of warmer days, and count down to these magical sessions.

Located just 15 minutes south of Calgary, The Saskatoon Farm provides the perfect setting for the best Mother’s Day Mini Session experience in Calgary and Okotoks area. This year, Mother’s Day Mini Sessions will take place on May 3, 2025.

In Calgary, Alberta, the end of April and early May can still bring snow. But when your session is in the greenhouse, there’s no need to worry about the weather. Let’s start with the incredible fragrance of newly planted flowers, herbs, tomatoes, and an array of plants. The greenhouse offers the most magical lighting—natural light beautifully diffused through the roof, creating a dreamy atmosphere for photography (and for me as the photographer!).

Here, in Alberta, snow often lingers into late April or early May, but there’s no need to worry when your session takes place in the greenhouse. As soon as you step inside, you’re greeted by the array of vibrant greenery, scent of newly planted flowers, herbs, tomatoes. The greenhouse offers the most magical lighting—natural light beautifully diffused through the roof, creating a dreamy atmosphere for photography (and for me as the photographer!).

One of the best parts of these sessions is reconnecting with families who return year after year and welcoming new families who are discovering this experience for the first time. The greenhouse provides a warm, inviting space where children can relax, explore, and realize that photo sessions can actually be fun!

I love to start with candid shots to help everyone ease into the session, allowing natural moments to unfold. From there, I mix candid photos with posed ones where everyone is looking at the camera, ensuring you have a variety of images to cherish.

What makes these sessions even more special is their versatility. Whether you're an expecting mom, a new mom, a seasoned mom, or a mom with teens or adult children, these sessions are a beautiful way to celebrate Mother’s Day.
