Cozy Newborn Session in Calgary

There’s something so special about newborn sessions, and this one was no exception. I was thrilled when Yuzu reached out to me for a lifestyle newborn session. Her friend had recommended me, which is always such an incredible compliment. Knowing someone trusts my work enough to share it with their friends—it’s a feeling I never take for granted.

When baby Charlie arrived, we planned a cozy at-home session to capture those precious first moments. It was a snowy day in Calgary, but their home was warm and filled with so much love. We started in Charlie’s beautifully decorated nursery, which was the perfect backdrop. It’s always fun to see how parents pour their hearts into creating such a special space for their little ones.

We also made use of their bedroom, which had the most stunning natural light. Whenever I plan a session, I love to ask about the lighting in your home—whether it’s best in the morning, afternoon, or around sunset. This helps us pick the perfect time for the session, ensuring everything looks soft and natural.

One of the sweetest parts of the day was when their adorable puppy joined us. It’s always such a joy to include furry family members—they bring so much personality and love into the photos.
